Upat ka mga miyembro sa New People’s Army (NPA), lakip ang usa ka giila nga top leader sa Region 10, ang namatay human sa sunod-sunod nga engkwentro batok sa mga tropa sa Philippine Army sa Barangay Bakingking, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur, Septiyembre 12, 2026.
Ang operasyon gipahigayon sa mga tropa sa 403rd Infantry (Peacemaker) Brigade ubos sa 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, Philippine Army, isip kabahin sa ilang padayon ug gipakusgang combat ug non-combat operations aron mapugngan ang pagsulod pag-usab sa mga nahibiling armadong NPA sa Caraga Region.
Sumala sa impormasyon gikan sa 4th Infantry Division, nagsugod ang unang engkwentro alas 5:30 sa buntag tali sa mga sundalo sa 1st Special Forces Battalion ug sa Headquarters Force Neo sa North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC) sa NPA.
Giingong gipangulohan ang maong grupo ni Julia Cagadas alyas Rheda, Toyang, Yoko o Kayuka, nga Secretary sa NCMRC.
Alas 12:20 sa udto, nakig-engkwentro usab ang mga tropa sa 8th Infantry Battalion sa maong grupo sa maong lugar.
Pag abot sa alas 1:00 sa hapon, mipadayon ang mga sundalo sa 8th Infantry Battalion, kauban ang mga team sa Special Forces, sa pursuit operations nga misangpot sa pagkamatay sa upat ka mga miyembro sa NPA.
Giila sa militar ang upat ka mga NPA nga namatay sa operasyon nga mao sila:
1. Julia Cagadas alyas Rheda/Toyang/Yoko/Kayuka — Secretary sa NCMRC ug giila nga top NPA leader sa Region 10.
2. Jonny Almonte Lindayo alyas Kikoy/Bugkoy.
3. Rochamae Bihag alyas Maki — ED/PROD sa Executive Committee sa NCMRC.
4. Gerald Basahon alyas Doydoy — miyembro sa Squad 2, Headquarters Force Neo, NCMRC.
Samtang, tulo usab ka mga miyembro sa NPA ang misurender sa mga awtoridad, nga giila nga sila:
– Cherelyn Cuarisma Magsayo alyas Lian — Signal Communication, Executive Committee, NCMRC.
– Marilyn D. Taquin alyas Mayumi/Mayang — Miyembro sa Squad 1, Headquarters Force Neo, NCMRC.
– Angelito Tahal Torres alyas Erin — Platoon Medic/Team Leader, Headquarters Force Neo, NCMRC.
Narekober usab sa mga tropa ang unom ka high-powered firearms (HPFAs) atol sa maong operasyon.
Matud pa nga nagpadayun ang 4th Infantry Division sa pagpugong sa mga armadong elemento sa pagtukod pag-usab og insurgent foothold sa Caraga Region, samtang nagpadayon usab sa pagpanalipod sa Stable Internal Peace and Security status sa rehiyon ug pagsuporta sa mga paningkamot alang sa kalinaw ug kalamboan sa ilang area of operations.
